The Qualiservice Research Data Centre, as a partner of the Specialist Information Service for Gender Studies (FID Gender), will receive funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for a period of three years (2026–28), starting from the beginning of the first funding phase.

The FID Gender marks the first time a coordinated infrastructure has been established to provide academic information for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary gender studies in Germany. The aim is to support researchers both in gender studies and in other disciplines that take gender-related or intersectional perspectives. To this end, existing research infrastructures will be consolidated, access to literature improved, and new information and advisory services created in the areas of research data management and open access. The focus is on the sustainable promotion and visibility of gender-related research, in particular through the planned specialist portal, which is due to go live in the course of 2026.

Qualiservice is committed to establishing a specialist helpdesk and advisory service for the archiving and secondary use of qualitative research data in gender studies. We collate and process information on existing research data infrastructures and develop practical information, advisory and training services for the academic community.
